mothers have been under-represented in the educational domain, forcing them to
drop out of school and discontinue their learning pursuits. Moreover, dearth
of money and lack of savings also cause hindrance in continuing of education and

Achievement Scholarship Program
It’s an academic competition for

money for their education. Established in 1964, it hosts 2 programs--- National
Merit Program that can be applied through the Preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and National Achievement Program. The

enroll as a high school student seeking to pursue school education or

receive one monetary award from the NASC even if have qualified in both the

African-American Single moms or
students can apply for scholarships with the philanthropic organization that
seeks to encourage higher education. Funds are offered to almost 39 private
universities and schools that can be availed by black students. Essential

Women in Sisterhood for Action
It’s a national nonprofit

black women and single mothers. Economically crunched women residing in the

Julianne Malveaux Scholarship
The scholarship is reserved for

journalism, public policy or other fields. Single moms or students need to be
enrolled in a recognized school or university for their educational degrees.

Must

National
Science Foundation (NSF)
It is a US government agency that
grants scholarships to eligible African American women and single mothers
through its Women in Engineering and Computer and Information Science Awards
program. NSF has an annual budget of $7.0 billion that is allocated for
educational purposes.
