Federal Pell Grant

Academic Competitiveness Grant

ACG is a supplemental grant conferred to undergraduate students of first year and second year who have exhibited excellent results. Students receiving this award must also be a recipient of the Federal Pell Grant award and must be enrolled for a minimum of half year. First year students get $750 per year and second year students receive $1300 per year for their education.

National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) Grants

It is another supplementary grant bestowed to third, fourth and fifth year undergraduate students pursuing engineering, computer, math and technology. Students can also have major in foreign languages, qualifying liberal arts program and technical fields. A maximum amount of $4,000 is awarded if they are a recipient of the Federal Pell Grant award, have been enrolled for at least half year and have retained at least a 3.0 GPA for all the classes.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

FSEOG is a need based grant awarded to college undergraduate students with financial crisis to help them meet the expenses of postsecondary education. Approximately 3,800 accredited postsecondary institutions offer the grants money to exceptionally needy students that range from $100 and $4,000 every year. The grant money is given to:

U.S. citizens
Students who have demonstrated extreme death of money or those with the lowest Expected Family Contributions (EFCs)
Students who are receivers of Federal Pell Grant
Those who have filled the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant

TEACH Grants are given to financially challenged undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate students seeking to complete their course work for a career in teaching. An amount of $4,000 is awarded upon signing a TEACH Grant Agreement that requires the applicant to:

Teach in high need field
Teach in educational service agency, elementary school or secondary school catering to the students of low income family backgrounds
Teach for minimum full four academic years within 8 years of completion of the course for which the grant has been awarded
